We want to tell you about a recent experience we had so we can try to describe the emotions and values that are part of working at DoveVivo.
We had an intense and really entertaining corporate weekend which kicked off on Friday morning, 25 May in nearby Brianza, as guests of Agriturismo La Camilla.
The two days dedicated to our large (and growing) team began with breakfast outdoors before moving to the meeting room for the briefing, where our passionate and tireless HR Manager introduced our mission, which would begin shortly.
There were five teams which were required to work closely together, getting to know each other and sharing ideas. The objective: to take flight into new interstellar scenarios and conquer them with good planning and teamwork. There was only one condition: to focus on the common good, with healthy competition that supported the interests of the teams as a whole. Oh, and one other condition: we each got a fresh egg which we personalised ourselves and had to keep safe during the activities.
The ice broken, the action began with a quick game to get to know the person we had been randomly paired with. The first part of the morning involved a ball, team coordination and good strategy, with a stopwatch putting pressure on all the members of the teams. After each game, we took a moment out to reflect, led by the trainers. Each choice we had taken was projected into daily life in the office, the game dynamics acting as a metaphor for the right or wrong decisions we measure ourselves by during the week.
After this came one of the most “discussed” moments of the day - a negotiation and strategy test where each team’s shots contributed to the total points for the entire DoveVivo spaceship. Different tactics from the various teams livened up discussions even during the well-deserved lunch break.
In the afternoon we went back to the field to restart operations for our teams’ take-off. First of all with codes of series of numbers, then the first steps of the group projects and finally doing a “MacGyver” to carry our beloved eggs in little buckets which was not easy to do.
The evening was a whole other story, with dancing, singing, cheers and toasts late into the night.
On Saturday we started again early with the most intense game of the weekend, a real TEAM test which, after a very difficult hour of coordination and effort, exploded into liberating yells from everyone when our ship reached its destination!
Finally, we finished our projects, presented them and had an awards lunch where everyone’s work was rewarded with a magnum of sparkling wine and the assurance that the ideas we presented would be implemented in the near future.
Special thanks go to the team at The Hub, who for the second year running organised the weekend’s activities and wisely guided us on our “mission”.
A superb weekend, what more can we say. This is what it’s like being part of DoveVivo!
